Since its inception, Surly has led the Minnesota craft brewing scene into a new era of beer styles. Today, its multimillion-dollar "destination brewery" in the Prospect Park neighborhood of Minneapolis shows just what kind of forward momentum the brewery has. The always packed beer hall is enormous, with long community tables and floor-to-ceiling windows that draw the eye to the holy shrine: stainless steel brewing tanks. The atmosphere is boisterous but family-friendly, with a small area with books and toys for kids. And Surly has upped the game with its menu, making it a destination for the food as well as the beer, which is important because after waiting for a table you won't want to leave.
